It is the foundation for how customs data is received, reused, improved and shared.
Emma Connect removes fragmented communication between systems, emails and manual updates.
Instead, it creates one structured channel for:
- Receiving declarations from brokers
- Sending data from traders to brokers
- Updating transport and border events in real time
- Reusing data across processes and systems, such as ERP, TMS and WMS solutions
All data flows through one secure, cloud-based infrastructure.

Key modules in Emma Connect
Emma Connect is a set of modules built on a shared foundation. Key modules include:
Digitoll – Transport Updater
Transport data often changes close to the border. Emma Connect allows drivers or transport companies to update key information directly.
Truck or driver ID and arrival time can be updated via SMS or email link. The data is submitted directly to customs without any manual involvement from the broker or forwarder.
Digitoll – Arrival & Shipment Messaging
As part of Norwegian Customs’ digitalisation, information about transport, arrival time and goods must be submitted digitally before or at the point of border crossing.
Emma Connect handles this by sharing MRN, timestamps and shipment data directly between systems or via Peppol when needed, ensuring the required information is in place ahead of arrival and updated in real time
Turn
Export and import processes are often handled separately, leading to duplicated work and re-entry of the same data across countries and systems.
Turn connects these processes by allowing import data to be added during export registration and enabling full declarations to move between Emma environments, including converting export declarations from Denmark or Sweden into import declarations in Norway.
Recalculation
Post-clearance adjustments are often handled manually, with data spread across systems and stakeholders.
Emma Connect simplifies this by allowing complete datasets to be selected and sent for recalculation, so third parties can collect, update and recalculate efficiently using data from Emma CMS or Emma Compliance
