Data Integrations

Customs processes depend on data from multiple systems, often delivered in different formats and through different transport methods.

Data Integrations simplifies this by supporting a wide range of ERP and TMS systems, file formats such as XML, PDF and Excel, and transfer methods including APIs, FTP and email.

Mapping and transformation ensure that the data can be structured and used across customs processes.

Transport Notification

As part of Norwegian Customs’ digitalisation program, every transport entering Norway must be reported to Customs before or at the point of border crossing.

Transporters often carry goods handled by several forwarders and brokers, each responsible for their own part.

The Transport Notification service enables communication between these parties, reducing manual handling and making the border crossing more efficient.

Transport Updater

Transport data often changes close to the border. Emma Connect allows drivers or transport companies to update key information directly.

Truck or driver ID and arrival time can be updated via SMS or email link. The data is submitted directly to customs without any manual involvement from the broker or forwarder.

Emma Turn

Export and import processes are often handled separately, leading to duplicated work and re-entry of the same data across countries and systems.

Emma Turn allows data to be reused between export and import declarations across Emma customers, reducing manual work and improving data consistency.

NCTS Exchange

New transit requirements, including NVIT (“Norske varer i transit”) flows, require transporters and customs stakeholders to exchange detailed NCTS data across systems and parties. This information is often difficult to retrieve, share and reuse efficiently.

NCTS Exchange simplifies this by enabling full NCTS data files to be retrieved and shared between Emma customers and connected systems (e.g. TMS) for all Nordic countries. This supports a faster and more structured handling of transit data.

Declaration Correction

(Recalculation)

Post-clearance corrections, including high-volume Transfer Pricing adjustments, are typically a manual and time-consuming job, with data spread across emails, spreadsheets and stakeholders. The result is slow processing, risk of errors and limited visibility of progress.

The Declaration Correction service digitises the entire flow between Emma Compliance and Emma CMS. Compliance customers can send correction requests for single declarations or bulk volume jobs directly to a chosen customs representative, either their original broker or a separate representative selected for the specific job.

Existing declaration data from Emma Compliance is reused as the basis for the correction. Complete datasets and supporting documents are transferred system-to-system, replacing manual dialogue with a tracked and structured handover that improves both efficiency and data quality.
